We are a religious tradition that embraces many different beliefs…including yours! The majority of our members and friends were not born Unitarian Universalists. Ours is a chosen faith. We come from many faith traditions or from no religion at all. We gather together to support one another in our search for answers to life’s biggest questions and to worship, or to lift up those values that have “worth” for us.

Religious spaces have not always been welcoming places for people of all genders and sexual orientations. The spiritual practice of welcoming is a very important one to our faith community. We work hard to make sure all people, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people, are welcomed as full members of our faith community.     We’re pleased to announce the elopement of Amy Craig and Steve Tuttle! The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Justin McCreary on Saturday, November 20th. The celebration included family, friends, and cake! We wish them years of love and happiness!

    The League of Women Voters of Mississippi (LWVMS) and the Jackson Area (LWVJA) presented a donation of Fran Leber’s library to establish a Reading Resource Library at UUCJ as a memorial for Fran Leber, long-time member, leader, and advocate.
