Reflecting on Rebirth

Human beings often reflect on the cycle of life. Unitarian Universalist Minister Forest Church often noted religion involves learning how to live while knowing we will one day die. Though that thought may seem macabre, we cannot ignore the life/death cycle. We depend on it. We approach Spring with excitement as new green shoots break the ground. We approach Fall with similar excitement as we celebrate the harvest of those once new shoots. This is a small but potent reminder of our own birth, death, and rebirth. Like the fields, we are seasonal beings, living forever in a continuous cycle. That is a good thing, because the cycle offers us renewal and in many ways the ability to reset. Reflecting on the cycle of life reminds me I am a part of the human journey. Within the microcosm of seasons, my life is renewed on a daily basis.
