The Vulnerability of Belonging

Please join us this Sunday as we introduce our monthly theme: Belonging.

Belonging is complicated, vulnerability is complicated, but what makes us human is our ability to be connected as individuals. As UU’s we acknowledge this in our seventh principle through the concept of Interdependence. We aren’t fully dependent in that we give of ourselves, but we aren’t independent in that we need others. Embracing interdependence takes vulnerability, and it takes vulnerability to belong. My sermon will trace the concept of belonging through the lens of vulnerability.
