The League of Women Voters of Mississippi (LWVMS) and the Jackson Area (LWVJA) presented a donation of Fran Leber’s library to establish a Reading Resource Library at UUCJ as a memorial for Fran Leber, long-time member, leader, and advocate.
LWVJA leaders made the presentation of books to begin the library with hopes it will continue to expand. In their presentation, they noted, “Frances “Fran” (Troup) Leber was born June 20, 1934, in Washington D.C. and passed April 18, 2018 in Jackson, Mississippi. In between, she lived a heroic and satisfying life of faith, love, leadership, and community service.”
The Fran Leber Reading Resource Library will also present information about Fran’s life and legacy and provide resources to support learning and civic engagement.
