The New Sanctuary Movement

The New Sanctuary Movement is a long-standing effort within the UUA to provide resources for our immigrant neighbors that are facing unjust deportation/harassment. The movement aims to connect each congregation and its congregants to one another in an effort to staunch the flow of trauma that our government regularly imposes upon our immigrant neighbors. Congregations provide physical sanctuary for people and their children, food, utilities, services such as vehicle repair or laundry, or anything else that there’s a need for. For more information about the process of becoming a Sanctuary Congregation and what this means, please read New Sanctuary Congregation from the Unitarian Universalist Association.
